Frederick 4th of July
After the past few weekends of this and this, we were eager to sit around and relax on the 4th of July holiday, lollygaggyng about and taking in our downtown Frederick neighborhood. We started off the day with our favorite weekend activities: running/biking in Baker Park, stopping for coffee, feeding the ducks, afternoon flights of wine (for my husband) and champagne (for me), and savoring all that’s going on downtown. Here are some photos from the day. (You may notice my husband and son are often photographed wearing the same outfit–that is ALL him, he loves to match/coordinate his clothes to the baby’s…).
The view in front of our condo:
Hanging and trying on festive decor received from our 4th of July fairy godmother and posing for the camera (with a banana bribe):
When the banana is gone:
Feeding the ducks is at the top of the bribing list (after snacks, eat, dinner, baba, wawa, banana, avocado, and elmo). The lily pads are in full bloom in Carroll Creek. We throw bread into the creek and watch the ducks manuever around and in between the lily pads (Judah takes a little nibble of each piece before tossing it in, regardless of how stale or old).Big skies:
Gobs of people were partaking in fourth of July festivities strewn across the 44 acres of Baker Park, including concerts in the bandshell, bath tub races, paddle boats, bouncy houses, petting zones, beer gardens, snow cones, and lots of cook-outs.
Adore this picture, and spending time with my little men.
Hope you had a restful holiday!
